Halloween!

Finally, I am blogging about Halloween. We had a fun two-day celebration of Halloween. On Friday night, we had the Ward Trunk or Treat. We had some yummy food and the boys did some activities. There was a Great Pumpkin for us to take pictures with. None of the kids were very cooperative, so this is the best we could do.


In fact, Joey refused to wear his Thomas costume at all. (Jeannie got some pics of me attempting to put it on.)

The costume lasted for about 30 seconds. She also got this cute pic of Janalynn. She loves to stick her tongue out and she looks so cute doing it.

After the food and activities, we went outside so the boys could go around and get candy. Jim, Janalynn, and Joey stayed at the van to pass out candy.

Joey basically just sat in the van and ate candy. He refused to wear a costume, but he loves the candy part about Halloween!

On Saturday morning, we finally made it to the pumpkin patch. We had planned to go several times earlier in the month, but the boys kept losing that privilege with bad behavior. By the time we got there, there were slim pickings, but we made it home with two pumkins to carve.

Jim, J.D., and Jake (with my help) carved the pumpkins. Jake doesn't mind getting down and dirty and enjoyed scooping the guts out of his pumpkin.

Janalynn enjoyed watching from her high chair in her pumpkin bib.

We got the pumpkins ready just in time to go trick or treating. We got the costumes on the kids (except Joey) and went on our annual walk around to our neighbors. Since Joey refused to wear his costume, I put it on the wagon. It worked.

J.D. was Wall-e.

Jake was Luigi from Mario Brothers (complete with a fake moustache and blow-up belly). We also put our porch witch out every year before we go trick-or-treating with some candy for the few trick or treaters that come by while we are gone.

Janalynn wore the same pumpkin outfit as the boys all did for their first Halloween--except she got new socks from the $1 bins at Target.

It was a fun night. The kids all had lots of fun and ate WAY too much candy (except Janalynn). We were all glad to get an extra hour of sleep from daylight savings time that night.
