Bowling with Grandma & Grandpa

Grandma was here for almost a week to help with J.D.'s party and to visit with us. Much of her week was spent sewing--costumes as gifts for the boys' birthdays and new bedspreads for the boys' Lego room. We are almost done putting the boys' rooms altogether, so pictures will come soon.

Before Grandma had to leave for the airport to catch her flight on Saturday, we went bowling. J.D. had only been bowling one other time at a birthday party and Jake and Joey had never been. With the assistance of the bumpers and the launching ramp, the boys did quite well (even better than me at times). Grandma and I were glad to have the bumpers a few times!

We were able to play a few games. Here is J.D. getting ready to launch his ball.

During the last game, J.D., Jake, and Joey were tied at 63 after 7 frames.

Janalynn was along for the ride and had fun watching. Grandma wanted a picture with all of the kids, but Joey wouldn't cooperate so I had to be in one picture. (My hair looks really bad--I had to get ready in a hurry, so pretend I'm not in the picture.)

Here are Grandma and Janalynn.

J.D. and Jake also posed with them.

Grandma got some good video with her new camera. Here is Joey launching his ball.

Here is Jake. He did pretty well on this frame.

J.D. got a spare on the two frames Grandma filmed. Here is the first throw.

Here is the spare.

We had a great time and hope to go again soon. Maybe next time the kids will be able to throw some of the balls without the launcher. (Grandpa and Jim got there first with the boys and made the executive decision that it was too slow and painful without the launcher.)

After bowling, we had a yummy lunch at Mighty Fine, then Grandpa, J.D., and Jake took Grandma to the airport. Grandpa was able to stay the rest of the weekend because he was waiting to load some freight in Houston on Monday to take West. We enjoyed having him here to make some yummy food for us and play with the kids.
