Perhaps . . .

J.D.'s word of the week is "perhaps." It is hilarious to hear a five-year-old say things like, "Perhaps we could find another store that has that toy" or "Perhaps I can draw a picture after I play computer games." I have heard him use the word four or five times over the past few days. I'm still not sure where he picked it up because I don't recall using it much myself,

Everytime it comes out of his little mouth I think of the song, "Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps" (or "Quizas, Quizas, Quizas"), which as my Google search revealed was written in the 1940s by Osvaldo Farrés and Joe Davis and has been covered by such artists as Doris Day, Nat King Cole, and Cake. Anyway, will he keep up this grown-up vocabulary in years to come? Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps!
